ARL, Higher Education Groups Support Lingua Editors, Open Access

On November 12, 2015, the Association of Research Libraries—along with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), the American Council on Education (ACE), the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL), the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR), EDUCAUSE, and the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC)—issued a statement supporting the editors and editorial board members of the Elsevier journal Lingua, who resigned on October 27 in protest of Elsevier’s pricing practices and who plan to launch a fair open access journal called Glossa in 2016.
