The Social Science Research Council (SSRC) relaunched its MediaWell website in early 2023 to expand its focus from the scholarship of misinformation and disinformation to integrity in information systems more broadly. MediaWell’s public outreach aim remains to aggregate leading academic research and bring it to nonacademic audiences, with particular interest in visibility to policymakers.
The SSRC welcomes op-ed length contributions (approximately 750 words) to MediaWell from the research library community. Contributions may be research-focused, address practices to strengthen resilient information infrastructures, or suggest policy interventions. MediaWell aims to provide global visibility to this work, and research librarians and informationists should be visible alongside the best social science work on these issues. Please send ideas, contributions, or inquiries by Friday, June 30, to Katherine Klosek (kklosek@arl.org) or Judy Ruttenberg (judy@arl.org), who will curate this series for MediaWell.
