On July 23, 2021, ARL signed onto a letter to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy in support of the FY 22 Labor-Health and Human Services-Education appropriations bill that the House will consider as part of the FY 22 minibus of appropriations bills. The letter highlights that the bill would help low-income students, students of color, and students at historically under-resourced institutions. The letter also highlights the bill’s investment in the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
