Xuemao Wang Named Vice Provost of Digital Scholarship for University of Cincinnati

The University of Cincinnati has announced that dean and university librarian Xuemao Wang will take on the additional title and responsibilities of vice provost of digital scholarship. Wang has served as dean and university librarian since 2012.

This new role of vice provost will cover a wide range of areas, from digital scholarship, digital media, and research data management to digital archives and preservation, digital records and assets management, and scholarly communication and digital publishing, as well as open science, open educational resources, open data, and open access. As dean, Wang will continue to provide leadership of University of Cincinnati Libraries.

Wang is active in the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), currently serving as chair of the Innovation Lab Advisory Group. He served on the Leadership Fellows Advisory Group in 2015–2017, the ARL Academy Design Team in 2015–2016, and the Diversity and Leadership Committee in 2013–2015. He was an ARL Leadership Fellow in 2011–2012.
