Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility in Libraries & Archives Conference, July 15–17, in Toronto
Plan to join us for the next Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility in Libraries & Archives (IDEAL) Conference, to be held July 15–17, 2024, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Previously known as the National Diversity in Libraries Conference (NDLC), ARL IDEAL raises awareness and appreciation of workplace diversity issues through the exploration of theory and practice in the libraries and archives.
ARL IDEAL 2024 will be co-hosted by Carleton University, McMaster University, University of Ottawa, Queen’s University, University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University, University of Waterloo, Western University, and York University.
“We are delighted and honoured to partner with ARL and Ontario colleagues to bring the IDEAL conference to Canada for the first time,” said Larry Alford, university chief librarian, University of Toronto. “IDEAL provides a valuable forum for colleagues from libraries and archives to come together to discuss and critically examine workplace diversity issues and to share ideas, research, and best practices to make meaningful progress in our equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) practices. I am delighted that nine university libraries from across the province of Ontario have come together to support this conference. IDEAL is truly a community effort, as is making positive change in EDI and anti-racism.”
