Karen Estlund Appointed Dean of Colorado State University Libraries

Colorado State University (CSU) has named Karen Estlund dean of libraries, effective December 1, 2019. Estlund is currently associate dean for technology and digital strategies for Penn State University Libraries. She previously held digital technology positions in the libraries of the University of Oregon and the University of Utah.

At CSU, Estlund will succeed Pat Burns, who stepped down in September 2019 after leading the libraries for 11 years. Dawn Paschal, associate dean for research, digital library and library services at CSU, has been named interim dean of libraries until December 1.
