Daniel Mack to Serve as Interim Dean of University Libraries at University of Maryland

Daniel Mack

Earlier this week, the University of Maryland (UMD) announced Daniel Mack as the interim dean of University Libraries. Mack’s announcement comes on the heels of Adriene Lim’s retirement. He will serve in the role from July 1 through October 1, 2024.

Mack, who currently serves as associate dean of Libraries for Collection Strategies and Services, will ensure that University Libraries receive the support needed to fulfill their academic and research mission. Once UMD concludes their search for a new dean, Mack will assist in the transition.

Mack currently leads policy creation and implementation, strategic planning, program development, and assessment for library collections. He has advanced degrees in library science and ancient history and has taught college courses in ancient history, Roman archaeology, classical literature, and Latin grammar.
