Reporting to the Director, Scholarly Publications & Analytics, the Research Data Management (RDM) Librarian supports researchers throughout the research data lifecycle to meet their planning, management, analysis, sharing, and archival needs. The RDM Librarian collaborates with peers in other library and campus-wide units to provide a suite of services related to the stewardship of findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable data. This may include advising researchers on the use of disciplinary repositories, LSU’s Scholarly Repository, and other data-sharing and preservation platforms to facilitate discovery, reproducibility, and long-term access; communicating developments in RDM requirements; providing training and consultations with faculty and students; and building internal and external partnerships. The Research Data Management Librarian works at the intersection of existing services and new opportunities for engaging with faculty, staff, and students in research data stewardship.   Responsibilities Include: 15% Offer services and programs to support the research data management life cycle across disciplines, including consultations with faculty and other campus partners on the development of data management plans;   15% Develop and extend the library's role in providing expertise on data management methods and standards, open science/research, and data literacy;   15% Work collaboratively with Libraries colleagues and campus partners to develop programming and provide expertise and guidance on fulfilling federal mandates with a specific focus on data management and open data standards and practices;   15% Work with appropriate university colleagues to develop policies and procedures for data curation, sharing, and reuse;   15% Partner with subject librarians to provide library support for data-intensive courses, assignments, research projects, data literacy, and input and guidance to researchers in selecting appropriate data repositories to store and share their data;   15% Works to meet tenure and promotion requirements through research, scholarship, and service.   10% Work with the institutional repository librarian to make the research data component of the IR more robust, by creating metadata, creating XML transformations, and assigning DOIs to datasets;   Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree: MLIS or MLS from ALA accredited institution, or related post graduate degree   Special Instructions: Please provide cover letter, resume/C.V., and three references.
