Date: Thursday, November 5
Time: 3 p.m. ET (12 p.m. PT)
Register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/
The Global Sustainability Coalition for Open Science Services (SCOSS) is a network of influential organisations committed to helping secure open access and open science infrastructure well into the future. Officially formed in early 2017 through SPARC Europe, SCOSS aims to provide a co-ordinated cost-sharing framework that enables the global OA and OS community to support the non-commercial services on which it depends.
This webinar will present an overview of SCOSS’s progress thus far, celebrate its successes, and highlight some challenges faced, and then will engage participants in a discussion around Canada and the United States’ role in the exciting yet difficult endeavour of supporting and strengthening the diverse and uneven global open scholarship infrastructure.
Speakers:
Martin Borchert, Chair of the Board, SCOSS, and University Librarian at University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia
Vanessa Proudman, Executive Director of SPARC Europe (TBD)
Co-moderators:
Susan Haigh, Executive Director, CARL
Judy Ruttenberg, Senior Director, Scholarship and Policy, ARL
Note: This webinar will be in English with French simultaneous interpretation.
