Research libraries are deeply committed to a wide range of civil and human rights, including privacy, freedom of expression, freedom of movement, accessibility, and principles of non-discrimination, among others. ARL closely monitors developments at the federal level that affect equal rights related to research libraries’ missions, faculty and staff, and patrons. We engage with policymakers and join amicus briefs where appropriate and inform the membership of developments and potential implications.
