The American Council on Education (ACE) has reelected Elliott Shore, Association of Research Libraries (ARL) executive director, as a higher education association representative to the ACE Board of Directors for a one-year term ending in March 2017. This will be Shore’s third consecutive year in this role, which strengthens ARL’s leadership in strategic conversations about higher education.

The American Council on Education is the major coordinating body for the nation’s colleges and universities. Founded in 1918, ACE represents more than 1,600 college and university presidents and the executives at related associations. ACE provides leadership on key higher education issues and influences public policy through advocacy. The ACE Board of Directors is primarily composed of presidents and chancellors of colleges and universities, including several ARL institutions.

For more details on the ACE Board election, see the March 14, 2016, ACE news release, “Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia Elected ACE Board Chair.” For more information about Elliott Shore, see Shore’s bio on the ARL website.
