Let Me Google That for You Act Introduced in US House

let-me-google-that-for-you-screenshotIn late January, Representative Bridenstine (R-OK) introduced H.R. 443, the Let Me Google That for You Act, formerly known as the To Streamline the Collection and Distribution of Government Information Act, which Rep. Bridenstine previously introduced in 2014. The bill would repeal the National Technical Information Act of 1988 and eliminate the National Technical Information Service, the largest central resource for federally funded research in science, technology, engineering, and business.

The language in H.R. 443 is the same as that in the Senate version of the Let Me Google That for You Act, S. 2206, a bill introduced in the 113th Congress by Senators Coburn (R-OK, now retired) and McCaskill (D-MO). It is anticipated that Senators McCaskill and Ayotte (R-NH) will re-introduce the Let Me Google That for You Act shortly.
