Information Session: Understanding Institutional Expenses for Public Access to Research Data—A Call for Research Partners

Monday, April 29 @ 3:00 pm4:00 pm

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and the Data Curation Network (DCN) are seeking five US-based academic libraries to join a research project focused on understanding the costs of public access to research data. The research project is part of the Realities of Academic Data Sharing (RADS) Initiative. Participants will receive complimentary membership in the DCN during the course of the project, scheduled from approximately September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2026. This research is funded by the US Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) National Leadership Grant LG-254930-OLS-23.

Join us on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 3:00–4:00 p.m. EDT for an information session on the details of the RADS research project. Shawna Taylor (Association of Research Libraries), Mikala Narlock (Data Curation Network), and Jennifer Moore (Washington University in St. Louis) will provide an overview of the research conducted so far, discuss the benefits of joining the DCN for two years, and outline what is expected of participating institutions during the duration of the project. There will be plenty of time reserved for Q&A. Zoom registration is required.

Please see the call for expressions of interest for more details.
