Amy Maden Appointed ARL Senior Director, Finance and Administration

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) has appointed Amy Maden as senior director, Finance and Administration, effective December 4, 2023.

Amy has dedicated her career to supporting nonprofit organizations. Most notably, she spent a decade in finance and operational leadership roles with the Nashville Public Library Foundation. Amy also founded and led a small business that provides outsourced financial analysis, reporting, and accounting services to nonprofits. She is passionate about libraries and the access to information and community they provide. Amy enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and reading.

As ARL senior director, Finance and Administration, Amy will be responsible for the Association’s financial, administration, and grants management. She will engage with the ARL Board Finance and Audit Committees and manage the Association’s financial and business relationships. She will also set up ARL’s new office in the DC business district in 2024.

“Amy shares our commitment to ARL’s mission and contributes her impressive expertise in the functions she will oversee,” said Mary Lee Kennedy, ARL executive director. “The staff is thrilled she is joining us.”

Amy earned her master’s degree in accounting and her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and her CPA license in Tennessee.

“I am excited to join the ARL team and support the important work of our members,” said Amy.
