Register Soon—ARL Fall Forum 2022: Supporting Mental and Emotional Health for Ourselves and Others

Register by Friday, September 23, for the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) 2022 Fall Forum, to be held on Thursday, October 20, in Washington, DC, and online.

The 2022 Fall Forum will provide an opportunity for a strategic discussion on mental health in a pandemic-informed environment. At this public, hybrid event, you will hear from experts, scholars, and leading innovators about mental health with a focus on the workplace, the community, students, and equity-deserving groups.

Schedule

The Fall Forum will take place 8:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. EDT for in-person attendees and noon–6:00 p.m. for virtual attendees. The morning includes a workshop focused on mindfulness.

Our partners at EBSCO Information Services will host a Fall Forum Reception for in-person attendees on the evening of Wednesday, October 19, 6:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m. All registered in-person attendees are cordially invited to attend.

Mental Health in Higher Education: From Stigma to Solutions

Santa Ono

Santa Ono is the 15th president & vice-chancellor of The University of British Columbia. He also serves as leader of the University Climate Change Coalition (UC3) and as chair of the U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities.  A molecular immunologist, Ono has taught at Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University, and University College London. He holds honorary doctorates from Chiba University and the Vancouver School of Theology and is a recipient of the Reginald Wilson Diversity Leadership Award from the American Council on Education. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Morning Mindfulness Session

Attendees will learn from a founding member about the inspiration for and development of the Mindfulness Program and practice collective at the University of Miami Libraries. This will be followed by brief instruction and practice of several mindfulness exercises. Learn more…

A limited guest room block has been reserved at The Dupont Circle Hotel, for attendees of the 2022 Fall Forum at a special rate of US $309 + taxes (single or double occupancy).

We strongly encourage all attendees to stay at the meeting hotel to support ARL in fulfilling our contract commitments.

    A $25 per person discount is available for ARL member institutions who purchase 10 or more virtual seats to the Fall Forum.
    • Affiliated with an ARL Member Institution only: $100

Submission of the 10+ attendee names and emails is required to complete the registration process. An invoice will be provided to the institution after completed registration is submitted. Payment is required in advance.
