Under the generous auspices of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), ARL will host an invitation-only workshop as part of the NEH Digital Humanities Advancement Grant “Integrating Digital Humanities into the Web of Scholarship with SHARE.” The workshop will start on Monday, Feburary 12, at 1:00 p.m., and run through Tuesday, February 13, at 4:00 p.m., in Denver at the Four Seasons Hotel, 1111 14th Street, in the Cottonwood Ballroom A.
Approximately 40 experts in digital humanities (DH) practice, librarianship, services, and technology development will convene at this workshop, facilitated by Nancy Maron of BlueSky to BluePrint. The workshop will surface use cases and stories necessary to leverage SHARE—a database of metadata describing and linking all types of scholarly works—in making DH projects more visible, citable, and discoverable on the web. Through this grant, which also includes surveys and focus groups of practitioners, we hope to better understand the human and technical requirements needed to enhance the discovery of all digital scholarship assets.
Funding for the workshop is provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
