SPEC Survey Webcast on Affordable Course Content and Open Educational Resources

Wednesday, August 17, 2016 @ 1:00 pm1:45 pm

spec-kit-351-cover-140x105SPEC Kit 351 The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) is offering a series of webcasts that present the findings from the latest SPEC surveys and allow webcast participants to discuss trends with the survey authors. A 45-minute webcast will follow the publication of each SPEC Kit in 2016.

The next webcast in this series will cover the Affordable Course Content and Open Educational Resources (ACC/OER) survey (SPEC Kit 351), which investigates the degree to which ARL member institutions are systematically exploring affordable course content and OER support and development, the level of administrative support for these initiatives, the institutional stakeholders involved, and the role of the library in local and cross-institutional initiatives.

The Affordable Course Content and Open Educational Resources webcast will review survey findings reported by ARL member libraries in March 2016. The survey authors will:

  • provide a snapshot of initiatives and strategies in support of affordable course content by ARL member libraries and their institutions;
  • show examples of noteworthy services and resources; and
  • discuss the future role of libraries supporting affordable course content in general and within the Association in particular.

The webcast will also include a discussion of promising trends and conclude with a question-and-answer session. Read the freely available executive summary of the survey results in advance and have your questions ready.
