SPEC Survey Webcast on Rapid Fabrication/Makerspace Services
Wednesday, October 14, 2015 @ 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm
Rapid Fabrication/Makerspace Services
ARL is offering a series of webcasts that present the findings from the latest SPEC surveys and allow webcast participants to discuss trends with the survey authors. A 45-minute webcast will follow the publication of each SPEC Kit in 2015.
The third webcast in this series will cover the Rapid Fabrication/Makerspace Services survey (SPEC Kit 348), which explores ARL libraries’ engagement with 3-D printing, rapid fabrication and digitization technologies, and makerspaces, as well as the types of service offerings libraries can provide, level of service, level of resource commitment, potential clientele needs, and evaluation of the service. This study covers ARL member libraries’ policies, services, investments in, and experiences with supporting fabrication services and makerspaces.
The Rapid Fabrication/Makerspace Services webcast will review survey findings reported by ARL member libraries in May 2015. The webcast will also include a discussion of promising trends and conclude with a question-and-answer session. Read the freely available executive summary of the survey results in advance and have your questions ready.
