Beth Sandore Namachchivaya Appointed University Librarian at University of Waterloo

The University of Waterloo has named Beth Sandore Namachchivaya university librarian, effective August 1, 2017. Sandore Namachchivaya is currently associate university librarian for research, associate dean of libraries, and professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She participated in the ARL Research Library Leadership Fellows program in 2004–2006.

At Waterloo, Sandore Namachchivaya will succeed Mark Haslett, who retired May 1, 2016, after 13 years as university librarian and 20 years with the library. Annie Bélanger, Alison Hitchens, and Sharon Lamont have been serving as an interim leadership team since May 1, 2016.
